The Smokestack demolition occurred very quickly, but the work on the memorial has been progressing at a much slower speed. Crossings Residents can pick up a brick at the Business Office on Saturday, August 8, between 9 and noon.
The smokestack is down to just a few feet, the bricks are gone, and rumor has it that the demolition crew will be gone after tomorrow
Today was a clean-up day at the Smokestack.

Day 2 of demolition has left a very jagged edge.
Day 1 is over, and the smokestack is much smaller than it had been.
Demolition of the Cowell smokestack started at about 8:30 this morning.
Today, the crane will lift the pulverizer into place, and start chewing up the smokestack from the top down
